Grand Lake Center is committed to providing service and adding value to our community. We bring the Grand Lake community closer together, creating connections and finding shared interests and goals through common space, continuing education, wellness and art.

Fitness and Wellness

Our focus on wellness is highlighted by our wide range of cardio and strength training equipment, variety of flexible fitness membership/class options and partnerships with Middle Park Health and Silver Sneakers/Renew Active senior fitness programs. 

The Grand Lake branch of Middle Park Health is available for appointments for checkups, x-rays and blood work from 8am-5pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday via the West entrance of the Grand Lake Center. Walk-ins are also accepted. Contact Middle Park Health directly at (970) 557-6044.

The Grand Lake Center hosts this fun, family-friendly annual event during the annual Buffalo Days festival weekend in August. Open to participants of all ages, this timed 5k race will take you on a scenic tour along the shores of Grand Lake, the largest natural lake in Colorado, and on a portion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDT), a 3,100-mile hiking trail that stretches from Mexico to Canada through the Rocky Mountain region. Family and Youth Activities

Grand Lake Center offers year-round activities and programs for families and kids to enjoy. Try out the game room, toddler play room or outdoor playground. Our after-school and summer camp programs offer fun for kids ages 7-15 years old. Check out the event calendar for upcoming family activities and events. With affordable rental rates and a ton of toys and games available, the Center is also a great place to host a child’s birthday party!

Come play at our FREE fun rooms for kids! 

Teens will love our game room stocked with foosball, air hockey, pool tables, ping pong and Wii playstation.  Tons of toys, books and games await little ones in a separate toddler play room. Families can find room to dig into a board game, card game or puzzle. 

Open 7 days a week during normal business hours (8am-5pm).

Children in grades K-8 are invited to come play, have a snack and unwind from 5- 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on select Fridays at the Grand Lake Center. Supervised activities include games, sports, crafts and homework help, provided by Colorado AeroLab. Learn more at coloradoaerolab.org

Shoot some hoops or play a game of dodgeball in the gymnasium, fully stocked with basketballs, dodgeballs, kickball, hula hoops and more! Free for kids and $5 for adults. Call (970) 627-2415 to make a reservation. 

Grand Lake Center has a wonderful outdoor play ground with tons of fun equipment.  Bring a picnic, sit at one of our tables and enjoy! Available everyday for free!

Creatives and Arts Programs

Our commitment to the arts is a key component to how we support the Grand Lake Community. We are the headquarters for Grand Lake Creative District and Grand Lake Heart and Soul. Watch our calendar and newsletter for information on upcoming Snack and Paint classes, Creative District workshops, and more.

In 2018, Grand Lake was awarded the honor of being certified as a Creative District by Colorado Creative Industries.  This designation brings state-wide recognition for being a creative community with historical precedence and rich culture today.  Colorful Creatives is the non- profit organization that coordinates the events, grants, and vision for the Creative District.  Also in 2018, Grand Lake applied and were awarded the Space to Create grant to support and expand local artists with makers-spaces and potential affordable housing.

Based in Grand Lake, CO, the Rocky Mountain Folk School (RMFS) provides year-round learning experiences of traditional arts and crafts that engage the hands, warm the heart and stimulate the mind, in an inspiring and inclusive mountain lake community. Classes are held at the Grand Lake Center, the Pitkin Building and at various other cultural venues around town. Visit rockymountainfolkschool.org for full details. 

The Rotary meets at the Grand Lake Center on Tuesday mornings, year round. They hold several fundraising events during the summer season, including weekly Bingo in the Park and the July 4th Pancake Breakfast. These funds are used to support other local community events, programs and youth scholarships.
