History of the Grand Lake Center
In 2011 the Grand Lake Elementary School after 26 years in operation. The 22,000-square-foot facility, which sits on five acres in the heart of Grand Lake, remained under ownership of the East Grand School District until April 2015, when it was purchased by the Town of Grand Lake for $10.
The Town envisioned transforming the facility into a year-round community center for fitness, recreation, local events and multi-generational activities.
On July 1, 2016, with the help of many dedicated volunteers, the newly envisioned Grand Lake Center (GLC) officially opened its doors to the public with a few pieces of donated workout equipment and two painted pickleball courts.
Today, the Grand Lake Center boasts fully-equipped cardio and weight-lifting rooms, a group fitness studio, golf simulator, billiards room, gymnasium, a medical center and summer days camp program for kids. Come check us out for yourself!
